Project brief
We were tasked with turning this garden into a dream sanctuary.
We are delighted to reveal our latest completed project in Gedling! Prepare to be inspired by the breathtaking transformation of a garden we crafted for a delightful couple with a vision for their dream sanctuary. Together, we designed a space that not only captivates with its beauty but also elevates with dynamic heights, mesmerising textures, and a vibrant palette that makes the garden feel expansive and alive.
A big thank you to our incredible suppliers: Paving Stones Direct UK Ltd, Belvoir Sawmill & Forest Product,s MKM, Gravelmaster, Rolawn Turf and Topsoil & Let’s Grab It, who helped turn this dream into reality.
The “Breathtaking Garden Transformation” in Gedling was commissioned by a couple who wanted their garden to become a dream sanctuary, a place of peace and beauty where they could relax, entertain, and feel inspired. They came to JDL Landscapes with a vision for a space that would combine texture, height, colour and calm, turning what was an ordinary outdoor area into something extraordinary.
Working closely with the clients, our design team introduced layered landscaping elements that offer visual interest at every turn. We selected materials and structures to create dynamic changes in height, from raised features to carefully placed planting beds and varied textures through hard landscaping, soft planting and turf. The use of lush planting and thoughtful structure ensures year-round appeal, while stone, timber and gravel deliver contrast with depth.
Part of the transformation involved sourcing high quality supplies. We collaborated with trusted partners for paving, timber and stone, ensuring the finishes were durable and aesthetically aligned with the clients’ vision. From the paving stones to the way lighting and planting were integrated, the project balances function with beauty. Every detail was attended to, from transitions between surfaces, to the way hard and soft landscaping work together to feel seamless and expansive.
